Social Wellness

Research shows that social connection stimulates continued cognition and emotional stability. Remaining socially engaged means developing new friendships and a sense of belonging by becoming actively involved with the community. Our caring, compassionate, and highly-trained associates make this easy for residents by providing ample opportunities to interact with their peers in healthy ways.

Physical Wellness

Our Fit Moments® program inspires residents to engage in short bursts of exercise throughout each day, slowing memory loss by stimulating the brain. Daily physical activity releases endorphins – happiness hormones — and stimulates more energy. Regular engagement in physical activity also reinforces muscle memory, making the important activities of residents' daily lives easier to perform.

Intellectual Wellness

Intellectual stimulation has been scientifically proven to help reduce age-related and dementia-related decline. Research shows that people who remain intellectually involved have a greater chance of keeping their mind sharp.

Through our engagement opportunities, residents have meaningful conversations, increase learning across a variety of different subjects and topics, and remain curious.

Nutritional Wellness

We are what we eat! A diet of ingredients that support brain health including fresh fruits, vegetables, key spices and lean proteins can slow cognitive decline substantially and improve independence during daily activities. At Certus, our nutritional wellness program offers entrees and snacks that are in line with this research. Our residents are encouraged to take part in brain-healthy cooking programs and menu planning to incorporate their favorite meals.

Did you know sweet and tart are the last tastes we lose? Our chefs use knowledge like this to create menus that ensure our residents enjoy great taste, while also nourishing their bodies for a full day of social, physical, and intellectual engagement.

Having been contacted by Certus for a job interview, I asked around and BOY WAS I SURPRISED! Usually there is a mix of feedback for any company, especially caring for this generation however I have heard nothing but good things and that is important to me because my current job is filled with folks who are positive, pleasant, peaceful and who love the patients. This is what I was hoping to find and I may have just found it! I hate to leave my job of 12 years caring for senior hearing health but if I want to stay with my company I must move to West Texas, but I LOVE FLORIDA so I am staying here.

No one reviews a company more thoroughly than a potential employee -and I have found ALL GREAT THINGS! Whether I accept a position here or not, I will be a word of mouth cheerleader for Certus for many years to come.

This community is exceptional. What stands out most is that the staff really seem to be committed to caring for my dad. I have worked in a number of Assisted Living communities, and I’m so glad that my dad lives here. Thanks for the care and safety you provide.

My father is living there and is very content. The staff shows care, affection, and concerns where needed. I couldn’t find a better memory facility in Lake County. I appreciate all the efforts of all the employees, from cleaning staff to administrative. Thank you

This is an absolute gem! In Mt Dora, this facility gets 5 stars. From the cleanliness, to the most friendly and caring staff, who will treat your family member like their own. Thank you for caring for my grandmother!

I feel everyday grateful that my girls and I have found Certus for my husband, Dave. He enjoys the freedom to roam, the delicious food, the engaging employees who show him much kindness and caring. As he progresses with this horrible disease, Alzheimers, they are there every step of the way. Their facility is exactly what I was looking for. I needed someplace he felt comfortable and independent yet still felt like home. He has his own room, chefs that cook for him, workout room and theatre room. It’s perfect.

Our family is so fortunate to have found Certus to help us through our incredibly difficult journey. Not only is the beautiful welcoming physical facility built to enhance the lives of the residents, but at its heart are the employees. Everyone from the concierge to the CNAs to the kitchen staff and the custodians to the nurses and the directors have all been well trained in dealing with the special needs of residents who have dementia. They work tirelessly to give them purpose filled lives as well as giving support to the families. The care speaks for itself when my husband calls Certus “home” and would rather be there than anywhere.
